A brilliant addition to the railroad and tycoon games genre

Railway Empire is almost like an updated and overly excellent version of an old game called Railroad Tycoon II. You build railroads, invest in businesses, and even invest in the stock market.

Build a railroad in the old west

Railway Empire allows you to build a railway business in the old American west. You start by setting up two stations and connecting them with track. The flattest routes are the cheapest to build, but a straight and tricky route yields higher rewards in the long run as your trains arrive more quickly and efficiently. The graphics take full advantage of modern processors and modern-gen consoles. There different modes to play within the game, such as “Free Mode,” which allows you build your empire free from objectives or period-specific technology limits. As you supply different towns, you will see them start to grow, which results in more money to be made. Add this to the business-buying and stock-buying mechanics, and the result is more than one way to win each level. Keep abreast of the technology available and you may use technology to dominate your competitors in the train industry.

There is only a small downside

Railway Empire is very much like an updated version of Railroad Tycoon II, but it also inherited two of its less appealing factors. The first is objective time limits. The second is the need to manually replace old trains. Other than that, there is plenty to do and numerous different ways to become successful within the game. The new gaming mechanics such as adding staff members and in-depth banking are very welcome additions.
