Instagram may be a platform intended for use on portable devices, but sometimes it’s nice to look through your pictures on your Mac. That’s where QuickTab for Instagram comes in.

QuickTab for Instagram gives you most of the functionality of the Instagram mobile app on you Mac machine. It will give you notifications, automatically open on login, run in the background, and more. It can be accessed from the menu bar, reducing the amount of clicking and typing it takes you to get to your Instagram account from your desktop (compared to using a brower and the website. QuickTab for Instagram also allows you to open multiple windows and set up hotkeys for even easier access. There is even a transparency mode. It should be noted that, while the app purports to allow commenting, many users report that they can only browse Instagram, not interact with it.

Useful to Some

While the app is undoubtedly useful to some, it might be a small portion of society who find it useful enough to pay for. It would be nice if the app had full functionality, or was free. Still, if you’re one of those people who would find this app worth the cost of admission, it is by no means bad.
