The fourth episode of the classic Quake game

This multiplayer version of Quake features all the qualities you expect from such a classic – violence and frenetic action. Quake 4 picks up where Quake 2 left off, with the Space Marines fighting the Strogg, this time on the enemy’s home planet, Stroggos. Your job as Corporal Kane is to eliminate the Borgs. The general pattern is that you crash land in the middle of a war and destroy key locations and infiltrate deep behind enemy lines.

You can be accompanied by game-controlled team members which are often medical or technical officers. They’ll either pick you up when you’re injured or sometimes pave the way ahead. The main thing lacking for most Quake fans is a vehicle-based mode plus the option to see the weapon mods available. However, if you’re a dedicated Quake fan, you’ll find this latest installment lacks little of the original and will keep you gripped for hours.

Quake 4 brings the fourth installment of the legendary Quake series to the Doom 3 engine. In a desperate war for Earth’s survival against an unrelenting alien enemy, the only way to defeat them is to become one of them.

Armed with advanced weaponry and vehicles and aided by an elite squad of marines, you take the battle to the heart of the Strogg home planet and become Earth’s only hope for victory.
