Digital passbook for Indians
PNB mPassBook is a free finance app developed by PNB, also known as the Punjab National Bank. As a digital passbook, it allows users to check their transaction history and save a copy of their account statements for their future reference. However, all account statements are protected by a password to safeguard information from prying eyes.
To use PNB mPassBook, you must be a PNB retail customer and have a PNB-registered contact number. You also need to provide your customer ID as part of the registration process. Bear in mind, however, that this app is meant for Indian users.
Shows all transactions
Founded in 1895, PNB is a New Delhi-based financial institution that serves the banking needs of Indian citizens. To view your transaction history, the PNB mPassBook app features two buttons: “Mini Statement” and “Detail Statement.” The former lets you check your last 10 transactions, whereas the latter allows you to see all the transactions you’ve done within a set date range.
From there, you’ll be able to see the transaction date as well as your credit and debit amount. Your account statements are downloadable as a PDF, too. You won’t be able to access it right away as the file is locked behind a password—which is your customer ID. However, do make sure that your ID is typed in capitalized case. That aside, it’s easy to log into your account.
With the app’s MPIN sign-in system, it eliminates the need for users to type hard-to-remember passcodes. If you forgot your code, you can create a new one by tapping “Forgot M-pin” on the log-in screen. You can also change it by going to the three-bar menu and selecting “Change M-pin.” Unfortunately, the app can be cumbersome to use due to unexpected screen freezes or server errors.
Easy-to-use digital passbook
PNB mPassBook makes it easy for users to view their transaction history and account statements at any time. The option to download password-protected copies of statements is a nice addition, too. It also boasts an MPIN system, making account logins less of a hassle as you don’t need to remember lengthy passcodes. Unfortunately, the app has cases of server errors and screen freezing.
