Edit cells inside Excel pivot tables
Pivot4U is an add-in for Microsoft Excel that allows you to edit pivot tables within the spreadsheet program.
A pivot table is a data summarization tool that, among other functions, can automatically sort, count, and total the flat data stored in one table or spreadsheet and create a second table displaying the summarized data. By default, Excel doesn’t support the ability to change the data in a pivot table, but Pivot4U lets you do so seamlessly.
With Pivot4U, you’re able to manipulate pivot tables in a number of different ways. You can easily filter data based on certain criteria, or rotate rows and columns to see the data in a different way. You’re able to change data in cells, subtotal rows, and grand total columns.
Pivot4U installs via a standard Windows installer and then appears as an option in the Excel Add-Ins menu. There’s no help file included within Pivot4U, although there is a sample Excel file with a tutorial, which has to be downloaded separately from the developer.
Pivot4U fulfills a very specific need, but if you’re looking to edit pivot tables in Excel, it makes for a reliable solution.
The Pivot4U Add-in for Excel is a utility that allows you to edit the cells in a pivot table. Pivot tables and charts are tools that let you take your data in a regular spreadsheet form and organize it and sort it intelligently, in order to generate tables and charts that would otherwise not be possible. Normally, you can´t edit this data, as it is referenced from other cells, but with Pivot4U it becomes possible. Other features of Pivot4U include subtotaling rows, filtering, rotating rows, and grand totaling columns. If you are an Excel user that frequently works with pivot tables, the Pivot4U program is going to add some features and ultimately save you some time.
