Be the King of Ping

Take to the virtual ping pong table in this realistic table tennis VR game. Play against various levels of AI, enjoy realistic ball physics, even choose from a selection of paddles.

Made for VR

Ping is a staple of any motion controller based platform, and virtual reality is no different. PingPong Kings VR attempts to bring realism to the (ping pong) table, and pulls it off quite well. That is, with the exception of when you’re facing off against a Terminator-esque robot. The controls are responsive and the graphics are smooth and realistic. The ball physics in particular feel quite good. The sound design works well, with ball noise and crowd interaction fitting seamlessly into the experience. So what it does, it does well. It could do more, however. There is no multiplayer, no tournament mode, and no campaign or career mode to add to the experience. There is a selection of paddles to choose from but that’s about it for extras beyond the core game itself.

Slick but Shallow

As a ping pong simulator, PingPong Kings VR excels. As a game, it could use some work. The price is just a little steep for something with no semblance of a career/campaign mode. But if that’s not important to you, this is a very solid game.
