Send Honest Messages Anonymously
There are lots of messaging and social networking applications available today. However, most of them require you to reveal yourself when you send comments or messages. In return, you would know who chats with you and who gives feedback on your posts. Piksa is an application that lets you send and receive messages from anonymous users. Providing users complete anonymity, this program can help you see what people think of you, answer questions from random users, and ask others things you never dared before.
How It Works
Piksa claimed to be one of the most honest places on the internet. The app pride itself in providing anonymity to its users. This way you can send honest feedback to the users you follow.
The app connects to your social media accounts so you can receive feedback from your posts. In fact, it requires you to have a Snapchat account before you can create your Piksa profile. Once you have your Snapchat profile setup, you can access Piksa without needing to register. The app only requires you to provide a username and a profile photo and state your age bracket.
Once logged in, the app will direct you to its homepage where, like Facebook or Twitter, you can post anything that’s on your mind, and people can hit like or comment. However, unlike the two mentioned applications, you can only post texts and not pictures. These posts will be visible to those who are in the same age range as you. There is no option to make your profile private, so any user can see and comment on your posts.
To start getting feedback on your Snapchat posts, you would need to share your profile. After which Piksa users can browse through your profile and send comments and messages. They can also send comments on your Snapchat story. However, Piksa does not have a reply back feature. For you to reply to another user, you would need to create a new message and tag that user.
Questionable Content
Anonymity certainly makes Piksa a hit, especially for younger mobile users. The ability to say anything they want to say to another person without revealing their identity makes it all the more exciting for them. However, this anonymity can also be a breeding ground for cyberbullies. Anyone can submit feedback, may it be trolling, spammy, and bullying in nature.
Furthermore, as the app allows you to post anything that’s on your mind, some of the user content in the app may contain racist language, homophobic slurs, and other offensive talks. Piksa allows users who are under 18 years old, making it more alarming to know that some of the bullying posts are coming from children.
Piksa does include an option to filter out bullying posts and even has a block user option. However, it cannot completely eradicate the problem of cyberbullying in its platform.
In a Nutshell
All in all, Piksa can be a place where you can say things that you are probably scared to post on other platforms. By giving you a way to remain unknown, it can definitely boost your confidence. But this anonymity also gives people a platform to exercise unkind behavior. It paved the way for them to harass and bully others. And while the app gives efforts to keep abusive messages, it is not enough to stop it altogether. You must always be cautious if you still wish to use the app.
