View and print PDF documents in your browser
I hate waiting for PDF documents to open and normally I’ll do anything to avoid having to do so, from trying to view them in Google’s cache to simply ignoring them.
PDF Browser Plugin removes some of this pain by turning your web browser into a PDF viewer that allows you to view PDF documents directly in your web browser, print them, and save them to disk if you’d like to keep them. Installation used to be a pain in previous versions but now an installer takes you through it automatically.
The final thing you need to do is ensure that Adobe Reader is not set to handle PDF documents, although the installer should have done this for you. When you try and download a PDF document, you’ll notice how much faster it opens with PDF Browser Plugin. You are nagged to register the app at first but once you specify that it’s for personal use it will open your document.
The great about PDF Browser Plugin is the quality of reproduction, which apparently is due to the fact that it uses Quartz technology inside your Mac to give crystal-clear definition. There aren’t many advanced features but you can zoom and split documents for comparison.
No more hanging around for chunky Adobe Reader to open, install PDF Browser Plugin and be done with it.
