Never let a Firefox password get the better of you

There is nothing more irritating than realizing that Firefox knows your passwords, but you don’t. When you’re entering log-in details, Firefox will offer to remember them for you. That’s great as long as you remember too, but if you’ve forgotten, there’s nothing more than seeing those black dots, but not knowing what they are.

PasswordFox is a small, lightweight utility that detects what passwords Firefox has stored in its memory and displays them, along with details of the website, user name, and sign-ons file. It displays the details in a simple but clear interface, where you can view, copy or create a HTML report of the information. The PasswordFox interface, although a little old-fashioned, can be modified and resized, and there are tooltips, so you know exactly what you are doing.

That’s all there is to PasswordFox, a specific tool for a specific job. It does what it is supposed to do easily and quickly, but it doesn’t have any extras. No configuration options, skins or extra features means that PasswordFox is low on the flexibility front, but if you need to find out those passwords hidden in Firefox, this tool will help you out.

PasswordFox will reveal passwords stored in Firefox in a flash.
