Password removal tool for RAR archives
PassFab for RAR is a premium utility tool by developer PassFab. It is a program that helps users unlock and remove passwords on WinRAR/RAR archives. It will work regardless of the compression method, encryption algorithm, and no matter the complexity of the password that was used.
Just like with WinRAR Remover or iSumsoft RAR Password Refixer, PassFab for RAR helps users recover forgotten passwords or those that were set by previous owners of files. It offers a free trial for new users and multiple purchase options for people who want to continue using it and unlock more features.
How does it work exactly?
PassFab for RAR comes with a clean and minimalist user interface that will let you immediately add files that you need to unlock passwords for after installation. To start, click on the Add button and browse from the archive that you want. It will then scan it and provide you with preliminary information, including encryption method, its complexity, and if it’s password-protected in the first place.
PassFab for RAR offers three recovery methods for passwords to choose from. The first is called Dictionary Attack, and you can figure out the password from a customized or built-in dictionary. The second is Brute Force with Mask Attack, which essentially attempts to recover passwords based on parameters that you set. If all else fails, you can resort to plain Brute Force Attack using any and all recovery algorithms possible.
From there, it’s just a matter of waiting for things to finish and the correct one is found. One thing to note with the free trial version is that it doesn’t show the entire password to you, only a part of it. Also, there is no support for batch processing, which would have made things go a bit faster. Aside from those, it’s a pretty straightforward fare.
Unlock password-protected RAR archives with ease
In conclusion, PassFab for RAR does what it’s supposed to, and it does it rather well. It’s fast and lightweight, easy to use, and requires very minimal user input to do its thing. Plus, the three recovery methods that it offers mean that there’s a higher chance of recovering your passwords given the essentially 3 tries you have. Recommended.
