Fun, retro typing game
Made by Bertesh Studios, the 2007-released PacWriter is an equally thrilling and educational game that will keep you on the edge of your seat. With colorful, old-school graphics and a funky soundtrack, it’s a typing-slash-arcade game wherein you have to outrun enemies in each level and reach the final checkpoint.
Overcome the obstacles by typing letters, numbers
There are different levels in PacWriter and you can play and replay any one as often as you’d like. You’ll play as the little worm-looking protagonist and crawl across a path. There are obstacles you’ll encounter, like stones and gates, which you can overcome by typing the letter or number that pops up.
Ghosts on the board will follow you around as you progress and you must try to outrun them or else you’ll fail the level. Different obstacles require various amounts of letters and numbers to type, too, so stretch your fingers and type quickly. Its main drawback is that there are no other game modes available.
Fun game and typing practice in one
All in all, PacWriter is a great game to play. It features several levels and exciting gameplay mechanics, with an emphasis on typing out letters and numbers to break the obstacles, thus making it an awesome typing practice tool as well.
