The game of Ouk Chaktrang is played in Cambodia. It is a traditional game and is popular among the people. The game is played by two players or two sets of teams. Chaktrang’s goal is to capture the opponent’s king. It is up to the players to decide who moves first at the start. Yet, in the following game, the loser normally gets to move first. If the first game was drawn for some reason, the players will agree once more. The word “Ouk” was believed to derive from the sound generated when a chess piece was checked against a chess board. In terms of vocabulary and rules, “Ouk” means “check,” and it is usual for the player who checks the opposing king to declare it aloud. Try the game now!
