Aim for the liquid gold

Oil Well Drilling is a free simulation mobile video game wherein you have to man an oil-drilling operation. Developed by Rollic Games, this 3D side-scrolling game lets you try out what it’s like to drill for oil. The gameplay is simple to understand and master. However, the whole game itself can get boring pretty fast due to the lack of other gameplay mechanics and the sheer volume of ads that keep playing.

Easy-peasy gaming

In Oil Well Drilling, you must create an oil well by drilling into the earth to extract the fossil fuel deep beneath the surface. You start off with the drilling machine already placed into a spot. Simply drag the lever down to start drilling and hold it in place to keep doing so. The further down you go, however, the hotter the drill easily gets so keep an eye on the temperature meter next to the lever.

To cool the drill off, just push the lever back up and wait for the meter to go down. If you don’t, the drill will break and you’ll either have to repair it or give up. You can keep drilling for as long as you’ve got fuel; the game lets you refuel whenever you’re low by watching an ad. There are three parts you can upgrade to last longer: Drill, Cooler, and Fuel.

The main problem with this game, however, is that it’s heavily infested with ads for nearly every action you take. Additionally, there’s not much of a challenge here other than trying to be patient for every ad that will give you fuel. You can’t choose the spot you want to start with, there are not a lot of diverse locations for drilling, and you also can’t upgrade after winning a level, for some reason.

Tone down on the ads

All in all, Oil Well Drilling isn’t exactly the best simulation game for this real-life activity. The gameplay is easy but much of it hinges on you watching ads every few seconds and that gets tedious after a while since the rewards aren’t really that great. You’re much better off trying other simulation games of this nature.
