Grammar checker for Microsoft users
Office Editor is a productivity tool from GOffice that helps users improve their writing. This app helps strengthen your spelling, grammar, and style. With this, you can write with confidence across documents, email, and even the web.
Unlike Grammarly, however, Office Editor does not get any deeper with corrections. Although, it gives you the general rules of errors to fix. It also provides you with suggestions on how to rework long sentences. Additionally, the app is available in over 20 languages. However, in terms of features, Grammarly has more to offer as it offers more functions other than spell-checking.
VS. Grammarly
When it comes to grammar editors, Grammarly has dominated the market. For years, it has been named as one of the best tools that you can get as a writer. However, Microsoft sought the opportunity to give the users an alternative through Office Editor. Like Grammarly, its mission is to improve your writing by acting as a digital proofreader for your work.
The app has three kinds of corrections, namely spelling, grammar, and refinements, and provides differences between these categories. The red-dotted underline points out your spelling mistakes. Meanwhile, the blue-dotted underline reveals any underlying grammar corrections and word refinements. However, unlike Grammarly, it does not explain why it gives you the correction. Although, it does give you the general rules of grammar errors.
As noted, Grammarly also offers more than spell-checking as it comes with other features. For one, it analyzes the tone of your writing, letting you know if your work sounds confident, professional, or casual. You can even set goals for your writing. In contrast, Office Editor does not have any of this. Although, you can unlock additional features, such as similarity check, when you subscribe to the premium version.
Should you use Office Editor?
Overall, Office Editor is a handy tool to have if you wish to improve your writing. The app helps you write better by correcting a variety of vocabulary issues. The app has useful features that check your spelling and grammar and even refine your wording. Although, compared to Grammarly, this app has fewer features. However, this does not mean that it is not the better choice.
