First-person paranormal point-and-click RPG

Occult Case Files: Case One is a first-person role-playing game that immerses players in a world of paranormal activity. Similar to Uninvited Guests in regards to psychological horror, this game offers a combination of suspense, intrigue, and problem-solving.

The premise of this story involves the sudden disappearance of a friend. Legends claim that a “Vanishing Point” occasionally appears and claims its victims. Players will need to explore a purportedly haunted house if they ever wish to solve this mystery.

DOS-inspired graphics

This game offers a decidedly retro appeal, especially for those who enjoy traditional DOS games. Pixelated graphics, simple user controls, and a simplified narrative are suitable for players of all ages and skill levels.

Freedom of choice

Occult Case Files: Case One provides users with the ability to choose which action to take. For example, there are occasions when a task menu will be presented. This menu includes options like “examine”, “take”, “move”, and “talk”. Of course, not all strategies will produce the desired results. Therefore, a certain level of trial and error is present.

Point-and-click exploration

Unlike many first-person RPGs that are dynamic in terms of character movements, players are required to use their mouse to examine and interact with specific items. Once again, this is associated with levels of nostalgia that served to define classic exploration games of the 1980s.

More than initially meets the eye

While Occult Case Files: Case One may appear rather simple at first glance, players will need to negotiate numerous challenging scenarios. Thus, it can be compared to other platforms, such as Shadowgate VR: The Mines of Mythrock, in regard to decision-driven RTS gameplay.
