Add NTFS read and write capabilities to your Mac
One of the less known (and unofficial) innovations in Snow Leopard is the ability to mount NTFS volumes with both read/write support.
NTFS Mounter is a simple utility designed to mount NTFS volumes in read/write mode. NTFS Mounter uses this feature to provide a simple user interface to the mount command for NTFS volumes. The straightforward user interface is similar to AirPort. Just click on the icon to display a menu with NTFS volumes name and select the volume you want to write on.
Everything can be accessed using the black cat symbol placed in your status menu. Clicking on it searches any NTFS volumes attached to your Mac. Simply click on one to mount it and you’re done. Note, however, that NTFS Mounter won’t eject the volume itself to stop any other applications crashing if they are accessing files on the volume, so you’ll have to do that manually.
NTFS Mounter is a simple and effective way to take advantage of Snow Leopard’s new read/write support for NTFS voumes.
