A firewall app with a VPN
NoRoot Firewall is a free security app that doesn’t require a rooted device for configuring a firewall. Though the app comes with a VPN, it has slow speed and unstable connection, making it unreliable. However, its VPN won’t work if you’re running another VPN tool on your device.
Ensures seamless app navigation
As NoRoot Firewall blocks on-screen advertisements, users will have an easier time using previously ad-ridden programs — which in turn — makes app navigation a joy rather than a slog. Moreover, the ability to allow or deny internet access gives you complete control over your currently installed apps.
Apart from filter import and export, you can create filters by providing the domain name, host name, or IP address. There are caveats to using this app, though, which include crashing, screen freezing, and high battery consumption. Its VPN’s Auto start on boot doesn’t work, either.
Consumes a lot of battery
If you have the technical know-how of creating filters or blocking connections, NoRoot Firewall should be right up your alley. It functions as a pocket ad blocker and includes a built-in VPN, albeit the latter is slow and unstable. Unfortunately, this app is a battery killer.
