Open-source alternative Evernote desktop client

NeverNote is an open-source alternative to EverNote, the popular online service that lets you capture and sync data across multiple devices.

Though it’s not connected with or supported by the original application, NeverNote is designed to work with EverNote’s servers. Therefore not only does it let you sync data in the cloud, but also includes many of the features you find in EverNote: support for fully rich-format notes, organization of notes in the so called “notebooks”, use of tags to categorize notes, and more.

To be honest, the interface in NeverNote is not as attractive as the one in the original app. The program also lacks certain options and functions, such as hand-written notes or, more importantly, the ability to sync data with mobile devices.

In any case, NeverNote remains a good alternative for EverNote, especially if you only use it to sync files between two computers – like a desktop PC and a laptop – and don’t need mobile data synchronization.

NeverNote is an open-source desktop client for EverNote with which you can seamlessly sync notes across multiple computers.
