Run a 2D dollhouse hospital
My Town : Hospital is an educational mobile video game wherein you get to play and explore a town’s busy hospital. Developed by My Town Games Ltd, this is a 2D digital dollhouse-like game designed for children ages 4 to 12. It is set in the digital open world of the My Town games series—similar to the My City games from the same developer. Nearly everything is interactive here but it focuses more on an indoor environment.
A fully-operational hospital
In the My Town universe, there are various locations in your quaint little town that you can visit for every game installment. Here in My Town : Hospital, you can visit the local hospital and perform various medical tasks on your characters. The game features 7 areas or rooms for different activities—such as an X-ray lab and a delivery room. These are spread out onto two floors of the hospital but it doesn’t extend much outside of the building.
What’s great about these games is that all interactive objects are realistic in their usage so young players also get educated as they role-play around the various locations each game has to offer. This is no different in this title, as medical equipment such as the ultrasound machine and even common hospital equipment like gurneys are portrayed accurately in cute 2D cartoon graphics. Dragging your characters onto them will trigger the appropriate sprite art, as well.
Speaking of characters, there are brand-new doll characters available here: the surgeon, the family doctor, the nurse, the pregnant mom, the dad, the siblings, and the newborn baby. Just like other My Town games, you can change and choose their facial expressions at any time. You can also change their clothing. However, since these are digital paper dolls, they don’t have dynamic animations. Plus, the game is strangely lacking in background music.
Join the medical field
All in all, My Town : Hospital is a great life simulation game that doesn’t require much parental supervision. It’s designed for children’s playtime in mind and lets them explore and play around with paper dolls within the comforts of a mobile device. However, don’t expect a lot of cool features here as this is wholly a dollhouse type of game. There are no dynamic character animations and no soothing background audio aside from the object sound effects.
