Build and survive in this roguelike

Muck is a free-to-play survival roguelike game from developer Dani. With simple polygonal graphics and vibrant colors, you will soon find that this colorful world packs serious action as you spend more time trying to stay alive. Collect resources, upgrade weapons, and build your base while trying to stay alive from monsters ranging from goblins to rock golems.

With gameplay and a large open-world like Minecraft plus graphics like Stilt Fella, Muck makes up for what it lacks in story and graphics details with a wide range of activities, each adding up to an entirely addictive gameplay experience.

Explore a fascinating world

If you’re tired of Minecraft’s default 8-bit aesthetic, Muck is a great visual alternative. Although for an island survival game, it doesn’t come close to games like The Forest, it still offers great color schemes and details to its procedurally-generated world. This means that not only do you enjoy vibrant colors, but also randomized world features that will keep boredom at bay.

Also, it has no story for you to follow. You’re free to “muck around forever,” or you can try to locate the Ender Dragon in this game, appropriately named “Bob.” This large dragon also is contrary to most endgame bosses, which will definitely be frustrating for some players. Lastly, there’s no save game feature, forcing you to finish it in one sitting or try again next time.

However, each game session is a different experience, which makes it replayable for hours and days on end. Its randomly generated world makes sure that from the resource distribution to monster spawn chances change with each game you start. For an added challenge, know that even easier difficulties can get challenging when enemies gang up on you and the game doesn’t offer overpowered weapons or easy ways to get out.

How long will you last?

Muck is a deceptively simple game. It has cartoonish, polygonal graphics that sport bright colors. However, this is a definitely challenging experience with a lot of teases and jokes for players, the endgame boss being one of them. If you’re a fan of survival games where you get to farm, fight, explore, and build all at the same time, you should check this game out.
