Mobile Passport Control – A New Approach to Passport Control
For the past few years, American travelers have faced a massive increase in the number of passport control, or passport lane, wait times. CBP’s policy on in-person and self-declaration entry has changed from year to year, but the average wait times have only increased.
Travelers will be able to speed through the passport lane process by providing CBP officers with their profile and responses from the MPC application.
Now, instead of waiting in line at the port of entry, travelers will simply be able to download the Mobile Passport Control application on their phones or tablets, connect to the internet, answer the few questions asked by the CBP Officer, and be on their way.
Once the CBP Officer has completed their inspection, travelers will be able to collect their mobile tickets and enter the United States.
