Free-to-play Might & Magic mobile game

The classic game saga, Might & Magic, is back and now on mobile phones. Might & Magic Heroes: Era of Chaos is a free-to-play strategy RPG game that will have you explore a massive world and fight in army battles. The game will have you back to the Kingdom of Erathia, from the Heroes of Might and Magic III PC game, and join Queen Catherine Ironfist in her quest to restore the kingdom. Gather your army and use strategy and magic to defeat the enemies. Might & Magic Heroes: Era of Chaos offers fast-paced PvP duels that will have you battle it out with players from all over the world.

Collect and train your band of heroes

For decades, the Might & Magic franchise has built a name for fantasy RPGs, with main games and splintered spinoffs released here and there. Might & Magic Heroes: Era of Chaos is its latest installment, this time taking the mobile game market. The story is a loose retelling of the event from Heroes of Might and Magic III PC game. However, the gameplay is completely different.

The game will have you form your troops of heroes and units, which you will use to fight against the troops of other players. Aside from its PvP battle modes, Might & Magic Heroes: Era of Chaos also allows you to create and join a guild to fight alongside friends and other players. The game offers both asynchronous and real-time multiplayer modes.

But while there are various ways to engage in a battle, the fight itself is not that engaging as what its namesake series used to offer. Instead of diving deep into the action, the game takes a more hands-off approach stance. You only have to direct where your troops will be before the battle in a way that makes the most sense compared to the enemy’s position. Then you let the troops lose and toss spells while watching the game system do the job.

That’s not to say that nothing is interesting about the game, though. You still have things left to do, aside from sending troops into battle. You can collect and train your soldiers and gather powers, artifacts, and weapons. But, all in all, while the game does have an interesting story, it just feels detached compared to the previous titles.
