Microsoft’s best subscription plans for your convenience

Microsoft 365 (formerly known as Office 365) is a cloud-based subscription service offered by Microsoft. Combining MS programs with cloud services like OneDrive and Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365 aims to offer different plans that will allow you to use them virtually anywhere. It’s one of the leading full-featured suites of productivity and collaboration applications that both PC and Mac users can have.

Wrapped nicely

There are numerous plans you can subscribe to in Microsoft 365, all varying in the different services they’ll provide. Microsoft 365 Home is a family plan and for six users. It can be used across multiple devices and platforms like Mac, Windows, iOS and Android, and includes the premium apps Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, and Access (the latter two for PC only); provides Skype calls to mobile phones and landlines for 60 minutes per month per user; one terabyte of OneDrive cloud storage per account; Microsoft support via chat or phone at no extra cost throughout the subscription; your apps will automatically be updated to the newest version; and you can purchase an annual or monthly subscription and can cancel anytime. Microsoft 365 Personal is basically the same plan as Home, as well, but only for one user. Meanwhile, Office Home & Student only offers for one user and one device (only for PC and Mac); only gives Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; has no free Skype calls or one terabyte of cloud storage; has Microsoft support via chat or phone at no extra cost for only 60 days, your apps won’t be automatically updated, and you can only do a one-time purchase for the latest update and cannot cancel anytime. The only similarities all three have are that the subscriptions are available in both PC and Mac, have access to OneNote, licensed for home use, need separate app installations on iOS and Android devices, and they all last 12 months. For Office Home & Student it works differently: it does not unlock any premium mobile features and does not last only 12 months. The services for the Business plans have even more additional perks.

Cloudy with a chance of productivity

The best feature of this subscription service, however, isn’t really the add-ons mentioned above but the ability to access your work from anywhere and any device. Nowadays, most people have different devices where they work on and it can be inconvenient to manually transfer files to your other workspace because it has a program you desperately need to use. However, Microsoft 365 lets you connect to OneDrive to access 1TB of cloud storage for ease-of-use and flexibility in your work routine. No more time has to be wasted in transferring your work.

A good investment

Microsoft 365 gives you almost everything you could possibly need. You can choose to pay monthly or yearly for the subscription and there’s always a free 30-day trial for testing. The apps have always been top-notch, and having them for free and complemented by several services only makes their price even more worthwhile. You don’t have to get Microsoft 365 if you’re only looking for particular Microsoft products, though. However, if you’re always using Microsoft apps and constantly on the go, this might be the perfect fit for your lifestyle.
