Measure is an app for iOS that turns your iPhone into a measuring tape. The tool helps measure real world objects and quickly gauge their size. It could also automatically provide rectangular objects’ dimensions.

Working Mechanism

Measure uses ARKit and your iPhone’s camera to calculate dimensions of objects visible on the screen. To measure, just hold your device to an object that you would like to measure, tap its endpoints, and the app would do the rest. Measure lets you draw lines and roughly gauge their length in terms of both vertical and horizontal dimensions. The results would vary based on the precision you observe when tapping the corners of an object.

Easy to Use

Using the app and getting a hang of it is pretty easy. Once you create a shape, the area on the inside would develop a white outline. This lets you visualize the object’s shape and view measurements (width and height included). Also, you may take screen caps to save for future use. Besides letting you add dots to measure, Measure also lets you recognize objects. For instance, holding your device up to a monitor or TV would overlay the particular object in yellow, letting you lock the point in. Thereafter, you may get the recognized object’s measurements without having to manually designate a boundary.
