Save two worlds in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite
Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite is a 2v2 fighting game, the sixth in the Marvel vs. Capcom series. As the name implies, players control characters both from the universe of Marvel comics and from the various video game franchises produced by Capcom. Characters include Iron Man, Rocket Raccoon, Black Panther, Captain America, Captain Marvel and Thanos from the Marvel universe, as well as Capcom characters like Morrigan, Dante, Mega Man X, Ryu, Nathan Spencer, Chris Redfield and more.
When worlds collide
Unlike its predecessor, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite abandons 3v3 gameplay of in favour of a 2v2 format. Off-screen assists are gone, replaced by a ‘free-form’ tag mechanic that more closely resembles the way character switching worked in Street Fighter x Tekken. To make the game more accessible to new players, the demanding combo systems have been simplified. Like the earlier Marvel Super Heroes, this game includes Infinity Stones, items which grant special abilities. Players choose their stones before the beginning of the match and deploy them by spending accumulated energy from their Infinity Meter; each stone has a particular effect which grants the character some advantage in combat.
Prepare for infinite power
If you’re a fan of both fighting games and Marvel comics, Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite should be an exciting title. There’ll be a lot of new mechanics to master, but put in the time and you’ll be rewarded.
