Marvel Superheroes’ Battle for Domination

Game developers, Kabam and Netmarble, teamed up once again with Marvel to create a new role-playing game for mobile players. This game, which goes with the title Marvel: Realm of Champions, will serve as the follow up to the popular fighting video game, Marvel: Contest of Champions. It will bring back all your favorite Marvel superheroes in a battle for world domination. Boasting real-time RPG, this game will have you team up or battle against other players across Marvel-themed maps.

The Heroes at War

The Marvel: Realm of Champions game will be a bold reimagining of the Marvel universe that will transport players to another world called Battleworld, a forbidden planet behind the space-time barriers. Following the death of the Maestro, the God-King, the uneasy peace of the Battleworld was disrupted and the heroes have form alliances to gain world domination. Players will take on the role of a Champion, who would align themselves with one of the houses and lead them to victory. The houses—including the House of Iron for Iron Man, the Spider-Guild for Spiderman, Patriot Garrison for Captain America, and the Pyramid X for X-Men—will also boast a league of some of the Marvel Universe’s well-known heroes.

Marvel: Realm of Champions is an original story loosely based on the Secret Wars comic storyline. It will mix up your favorite superheroes with strategy gameplay. However, players will probably notice that it has a dash of Game of Thrones when it comes to alliance-making, and of course, the houses battling it out to rule.

Choose Your Champion

After choosing their house, players will need to customize their chosen champion. Marvel: Realm of Champions allows players to equip their chosen hero with superhero-inspired gears to help them in winning battles. Unlike the Marvel: Contest of Champions, which engages players in one-on-one battles in the Battlerealm, this game will take players to the Battleworld’s global skirmishes. From the gleaming skyscrapers of Stark Technologies-built cities to the mythical Asgardian environments and the webbed alleyways of the Spider-Guild, players will have the entire planet waiting for them to explore and conquer.

All battles will count towards control of the whole Battleworld. Players can choose to participate in Player vs. Environment (PvE) matches or they can choose to battle foes in a Player vs. Player (PvP) match. Marvel: Realm of Champions will not only promote war strategy but will also focus on forging diplomatic alliances. Players will also need to have a good plan and make use of their character class abilities to ensure better teamwork and get the maximum effect.

The Usual Marvel Game

Marvel: Realm of Champions looks to be another game for Marvel superhero fans. However, players will probably notice the lack of originality when it comes to the gameplay and storyline. It sounds just like every other F2P RPG already available in app stores. The only thing that makes it interesting is its faction mechanics and the fact that it can live out your fantasy of becoming a Marvel superhero. It would probably appeal to diehard marvel fans or casual players. But for dedicated gamers looking for something new, they might give it a hard pass.
