Quick, no-frills DVD and CD burning

MakeDisc is an all-in-one disc burning application for your audio, video, image and data files. Make CDs or DVDs with a simple step-by-step process.

The MakeDisc interface is simple, with four big buttons for the Videos, Pictures, Music and Data areas. Each of these will automatically find your relevant file, as long as they are kept in the standard Windows locations. If not, you can find them using the More button.

Once you’ve selected what you want to burn, it’s as simple as clicking the Burn button, and MakeDisc will create your disc. It’s very basic, and best suited to people who want a no-frills approach to burning.

MakeDisc does have problems, and its the simple interface that’s at the heart of them. It’s a non-standard design, and it’s awkward to navigate to your files when all the icons look different! To make matters worse, you can only select from the file tree, and not drag and drop files. This makes MakeDisc actually pretty annoying to work with, unless you have a very well organized hard drive.

MakeDisc tries to make burning discs quick and painless, but poor interface usability and unconventional design actually make it harder than it should be!
