Experience your own Love Island adventure
Love Island The Game 2 is a free-to-play simulation game that puts you at the center of a Love Island season, based on the hit reality TV series of the same name. Set in summer, you find your perfect match among a group of equally charming potential powers. Flirt with other people, compete for attention, flare up the drama–there’s a lot of things to do here.
Its additional activities and events for players to unlock make Love Island The Game 2 the fitting dating sim sequel to Love Island The Game. In a way, it is also reminiscent of Brookhaven.
A larger island-mansion
The first thing you’ll notice in Love Island The Game 2 is that it has a significantly larger setting, although you don’t get to walk around in a 3D space. What it has, however, are more rooms for you to explore and puzzles to solve–more than 50 of them and more slated to come. There are now fantasy elements mixed in as you traverse forests and underground caves.
Gameplay-wise, you can choose between a lot of game modes: two single-player, two online cooperatives, and a competitive mode. Whether you prefer playing alone or with other people, as allies or opponents, this game has it all. You can compete for true love or wreak havoc on the island with the increased opportunities for conflict and drama. This immediately leads to a longer playthrough and more gameplay paths to try.
Although there are more character stereotypes available for you to interact with, the game seems to have cut down on customization options. There are a few character appearance presets for you to choose from. Even worse, every major aspect of the game costs diamonds, which negatively affects the gameplay experience by restricting possible actions. This makes the game unbelievably frustrating.
Cash grabbing the original hit
Love Island The Game 2 does improve on the original game by introducing a lot more features, most notably its expanded map through the added levels and puzzles. It also comes in more game modes that further vary the gameplay experience, such as cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes. However, all these additions are undermined by the apparent cash-grabbing since diamonds are required at every turn.
