A great story that is let down a little by its graphics

Released in 1997, Little Big Adventure 2 Twinsen’s Odyssey is the sequel to Little Big Adventure. In the first game, you freed the world from an evil dictator. In this game, there are aliens that have visited earth and caused a stink. It is your job to travel across the galaxy and bring down the aliens who seem to have started trouble for what appears to be no reason. Is there more to their story? Or, have we lost one evil entity just to have another fall from the sky?

The game relies heavily on the story

Little Big Adventure 2 Twinsen’s Odyssey is a good game for its era, and it still has replay value today, but like the Metal Gear Solid games soon to follow, it relies on its story to turn a mediocre game into a great one. The story seems childish because of the way the game looks, but it is actually very immersive and it has barrels of character. The cut scenes are very well drawn and rendered with a very romantic and highly developed feel. You have to remember that in 1997 it took a lot of work to create the texture less characters that appear in the game.

The developers know what an adventure should have

Today’s games think they can create a bunch of fireworks and skimp on the story. Little Big Adventure 2 Twinsen’s Odyssey has its share of fireworks, but the game is heavily grounded in its dramatic storytelling and its imaginative premise. The music also adds a lot of depth and character to the game. It looks like a kid’s game, and maybe it is supposed to be, but there nothing here that an adult will not enjoy.
