The Third Entry in the Graphic Adventure Series
Life is Strange 2 is the third instalment of Dontnod Entertainment’s acclaimed, single-player graphic adventure series, following on from the first Life is Strange and its prequel, Life Is Strange: Before the Storm. This time, the game focuses on new characters, a new story and a new setting, with players taking control of a teenage boy named Sean Diaz, as he and his younger brother are on the run from police.
Branching Conversations and Choices
Much like the previous games in the series, Life is Strange 2 is a graphic adventure, which provides players with a series of choices and branching conversations, altering the story. It is played from a third-person perspective and the story is divided into several episodes. In addition to the game splitting from its predecessors in terms of plot, the original game’s time travel mechanic is not featured. However, there is a new supernatural component for players to get to grips with.
A Familiar Experience
Ultimately, Life is Strange 2 will provide returning players with a familiar experience, albeit with new characters and a new setting. This shift also makes the game accessible to players who have not played either of the previous two instalments in the series, but may disappoint those who are looking for more adventures featuring the characters of Chloe Price and Max Caulfield.
