A unique platformer game for PC
Legbreaker is a free puzzle game that was developed by Azaan Lambkin for PC devices. It’s a platformer game that places you in the shoes of a captive test subject who is involved in trials for an experimental serum that boosts muscle power when injected into one’s quadriceps.
This drug grants you the superhuman ability to jump long distances. There is a catch, however, in that every time you jump, it causes one of your legs to break, hence the game’s name, Legbreaker. This 2D game’s unique mechanic challenges you to clear stages and escape captivity.
How do I play Legbreaker?
You are a kidnapped test subject that was injected you with a serum that boosts leg power, allowing you to jump really high. However, you have to deal with the fact that you will break one of your legs each time you jump. You must now use your newly gained ability to clear areas and escape the facility.
The controls in Legbreaker are simple and easy to learn. You use the WASD or arrow keys to move your character through each level. Meanwhile, you use the Spacebar to jump and progress through dialogue. You can press the P or the Esc keys to pause the game. Lastly, you can press the R key to restart the level.
Levels and puzzles will progressively get more complex with traps and movable objects to get in your way. There are some things that could be improved, though. For one, movement is sluggish and imprecise. Another is that you have no control over your jumps, making it unnecessarily hard to gauge them.
A clever and challenging platformer
All in all, Legbreaker’s unique game mechanic makes it stand out in the crowded 2D platformer game space. Its clever puzzles provide a fun challenge without confusing players with overly complex systems. Its controls could be better, but it’s a great game overall. If you’re a fan of platforming games, this one is worth checking out.
