A turn-based tactical RPG in a dark fantasy world
King Arthur: Knight’s Tale is a tactical role-playing game (RPG) that takes place in a world of dark fantasy that serves as a modern retelling of Arthurian mythology. In the game, the player takes on the role of the nemesis of King Arthur on a quest given to him by the Lady of the Lake.
This game sets itself apart from other turn-based dark fantasies like Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters or Wasteland 3 with its setting, which is firmly planted in medieval lore rather than futuristic fiction.
Battle King Arthur
In this reimagining of Arthurian legend, King Arthur is a former black knight of the grim tales whose nemesis is Sir Mordred. It is this nemesis that the player takes control of. Arthur and Mordred killed each other in battle but still live, and now they fight a war against each other with the knights they recruit.
Turn-based combat and knight recruitment
One of the key aspects of the game is the recruitment of knights. The player will be able to bring new knights into their party and use those knights to do battle. There is also a morality system whereby the player can make moral choices that affect the opportunities they have.
An interesting game with some fundamental flaws
King Arthur: Knight’s Tale is a well-designed game that brings the fictional dark fantasy world of King Arthur to life. It adds some interesting concepts to the morality and faith system and benefits from some high-quality voice acting. Unfortunately, many players report that the battles start to feel repetitive very early on in the game.
