Uncover useful hidden features in OS X

It’s always nice when you find a tool that can bring out a few hidden secrets in your operating system.

iTweaX is designed to do exactly that. It’s a free utility to reveal useful hidden features and maintenance tools for OS X 10.5.x and OS X 10.6. iTweaX has a user friendly GUI, is extremely lightweight and automatically optimizes specific components such as Finder, Dock and Safari etc.

The look and feel of iTweaX reminds me very much of Onyx (which is no bad application to emulate), although I wouldn’t say the functionality compares quite so well. Nonetheless, it is very clearly and logically laid out and all of the tweaking functions are clearly visible. One of the most useful features of iTweaX is that it allows you to lock icons to the Dock. This is ideal if you’re constantly accidentally losing icons from your Dock or finding that other users on your machine are doing so. I also liked the way that it allows you to roll back any tweaks you’re not happy with.

iTweax is an interesting tweaking tool for OS X which compares well with similar programs and makes optimizing easy.
