Free falling on your iPhone
iTunnel takes the idea that falling is exhilarating, and gives you things to avoid while you’re falling, in this high speed action game.
Presented in clean, but not extremely polished graphics, iTunnel sees you flying through, or falling into a tunnel. You start off slow but get steadily faster and faster as time goes by, and the obstacles get more and more tricky to avoid.
It’s a tilt-controlled game, and first person. You aim to center your view on a space you can fall through. Sometimes half the tunnel is blocked, sometimes there is just a small hole to fall through. Other times, there is a moving shape in your way, making it even harder to pick a safe spot to fall through without crashing.
The graphics move nice and smoothly, but are pretty basic. The color schemes change a lot, so at least it doesn’t get boring to look at. The controls are good, responsive without being over sensitive, although the game gets blisteringly quick so your reactions need to be superb to avoid crashing!
If you suffer from travel sickness, this is one to avoid, as you’ll soon find your head spinning! But iTunnel is an enjoyable adrenalin rush, with tight controls that you can play while listening to your own iTunes collection.
