Monitor your fitness training schedule
One of the most popular New Year’s Resolutions for many people is to improve their fitness and lose all that weight they put on over Christmas and the previous year.
iSMARTtrain is a powerful tool in helping you achieve such an aim by allowing you to easily and quickly track your training, monitor your progress, and build a history of your training sessions. You can manually enter your data or download it from your heart rate monitor or electronic assistant. Polar and Garmin Heart Rate Monitors, PowerTap, SRM and Ergomo Power devices are supported and a full list is available on the developer site.
Beyond assimilation and retrieval of data, iSMARTtrain also offers some analytical tools such as graphs and charts that might inspire or inform you. These include data on your heart rate during your work out, speed, distance and time. It also features a calorie monitor which, if fat burning is your aim, is very useful for assessing how much you’re burning off with each session.
The overall interface and presentation of iSMARTtain could be improved upon – the graphs in particular look very dated and it would also be useful if they included averages for your age group and performance based targets.
iSMARTtrain is a useful training buddy to help improve your fitness, especially if you use an electronic monitoring device.
This release contains some improvements to the code for downloading from polar, SRM & Ergomo devices. It will also now will happily co-exist with Polar Websync software. In previous releases, downloadng from a Flowlink device would fail if Polar’s ‘polard’ daemon was running in the background. The software now stops the daemon from running before downloading and restarts it once the download has completed. It is still necessary to quit the Websync software that’s running in the menubar, though – simply section quit from the menu. You will be asked for your system password when the daemon is stopped and started.
