Offline travel and navigation app

iGo Navigation is a free navigation application for mobile devices developed by NNG Software Developing and Commercial LLC. It’s a travel map tool with offline support. It provides road and terrain data on various countries and offers multiple view options to make map details more visible and easier to understand.

Much like other travel-centric map apps like MAPS.ME or Avenza Maps, there’s an apparent focus on helping travelers familiarize themselves with new locations. It does this by providing helpful landmarks and relevant information for streets and establishments to make them easier to find and go to.

Traveling abroad

Map apps are great tools to help you get around the cities. Whether it’s to help find that popular new food place or try out different routes for your commute, they are indispensable companions while on the road. In comes travel maps, which basically serve the same thing, but are more intended for those traveling to new locations and other countries, and iGo Navigation is one example.

One of the important necessary features in travel maps is support for offline functionality, and this app checks that box. From there, you can use it like you would any other, with data on more than 100 countries, and thousands of Points of Interest (POI), complete with accompanying landmarks. There’s even a 3D geographic view for some places to let you zoom in and check the details.

If you’ll be bringing a car for your travels, the app can provide helpful traffic updates to avoid road jams and congestion along the way and arrive at your destination as fast as possible. There is also a text-to-speech feature for safe hands-free navigation. Some missing things that need to be included in future updates are full-screen mode and Google Assistant integration for an even better user experience.

Find your way

For any frequent travelers, map applications are a must-have for their adventures, and iGo Navigation is a good option worth considering. It’s easy to use, works offline, and offers plenty of information on locations and landmarks. While it’s still missing some usability features, it still provides a good enough experience. Try it out for yourself to see if it’s for you.
