For many years, contractors have used cardboard charge calculators to calculate the amount of refrigerant to charge an air conditioning or refrigeration system. These calculators are simply a tool to assist with the task of calculating the proper amount of refrigerant to charge a system. Now, however, there is a mobile app that makes this task much easier. This app, known as HVACR Check & Charge™, is developed by Emerson Climate Technologies.

This app allows contractors to calculate the proper amount of refrigerant to charge their air conditioning and refrigeration systems based on the operating conditions of their specific system. It also assists with calculating whether the amount of refrigerant that is being charged needs to be altered based on the system’s operating conditions.
