House of the Dying Sun: A Tactical Space Shooter
House of the Dying Sun is a tactical space shooter game developed by Marauder Interactive for Windows. The game puts you in the cockpit of the Empire’s most deadly interceptor, the Executor Mk II, and in command of the Harbinger Fleet. The objective of the game is to hunt down the enemies of your dying empire and upgrade your warships with new weapons and abilities earned during your campaign of terror.
The game features classic Space Sim Combat gameplay heavily influenced by the titans of yesteryear. You can give orders to any vessel in your fleet from a tactical overview, switch to another fighter, or pause time and carefully consider your next move. The game offers 14 campaign scenarios, each with four increasingly-brutal difficulty levels, making the game highly replayable.
House of the Dying Sun also offers powerful upgrades for completing bonus objectives, such as the Gap Drive or the Kamikaze Chassis, that are essential to tackling the most difficult scenarios. The game supports both traditional monitors and VR headsets such as the HTC Vive, and it also supports 21:9 displays. However, it is worth noting that VR requires a dual analog gamepad, and HOTAS controllers are not officially supported and are at your own risk.
