Find out where it all started!
Helltaker: Artbook + Pancake Recipe is a digital artbook for fans of the independent game, Helltaker. It’s developer, vanripper, offers this bonus content for fans to see the adventure game’s concept art, and artist’s notes. It even contains the Helltaker’s pancake recipe, the same dish that convinces Lucifer to join his harem. This downloadable content is available in the game for free, but you will need to reach level 10 and follow several steps afterward. If you don’t want to go through the trouble, you can download this game utility app instead, and enhance your gaming experience from beginning to end.
See where it all began
Downloading this artbook gives you access to the developer’s creative process, early designs, and the ingredients to Helltaker’s pancakes! Once you download the non-playable DLC, it will automatically be filed in the game library. You can access this by pressing RMB on Helltaker. The properties windows will appear with several tabs, including the local files tab. The artbook should appear after you’ve pressed the browse local files button.
Helltaker: Artbook + Pancake Recipe is offered by the puzzle game for those that reach the tenth level. It should be immediately followed by the secret ending, then the credits screen. As the credits come to a close, you will see a link and code that redirects you to the artbook. While it is available for free, reaching level 10 is a challenge in itself. Making it to the secret ending is even tougher.
This bonus feature displays all the variations of the game’s layout, character, and personality. Rough drafts and unreleased versions are also included in the book. For example, Zdrada the demon initially appeared to wear tailored pieces and had longer hair. This idea was exchanged for a more casual button-down and a short bob. In addition to the designs, you will see the character’s name and the artist’s comments below it.
Inside look to the puzzle game
Helltaker: Artbook + Pancake Recipe is a great addition to the Helltaker game. It’s not the kind of DLC that offers more playable characters or abilities, but it invites fans to see the independent developer’s process in crafting the characters and the storyline.
