Defeat ghosts in this free tower-defense game
Haunted Dorm is a free mobile strategy game developed by Mihuan. This free-play game will place players inside a haunted dormitory. The goal is to sleep to earn money. However, there are ghosts lurking who will disturb your slumber.
Haunted Dorm plays like a tower-defense game in which you will have to protect your character from the ghosts before you sleep. To get protection, you have to earn money. As in idle games, you will earn coins by sleeping. However, while it seems easy, the game has actually a steep learning curve when it comes to learning the mechanics.
What is Haunted Dorm?
Haunted Dorm is a horror-themed strategy game where players are challenged to defend themselves against ghosts by sleeping. The premise is simple: you will find a dorm to sleep in at the beginning. As you sleep, you will earn coins. However, as mentioned, ghosts are swarming the dorm, and you will have to set up protection to avoid getting killed. These protections may include stronger doors to even cannons.
Players must note that they can only put defenses on the empty floor or the room. To build a turret, you only need to click any empty floor. Doing so will prompt the building menu to pop up. Although, you should know that the buildings you can use depend on your economic conditions. The more coins you have, the better defense you can build.
You will clear the level you’re in once you defeat the ghosts. However, if the ghost manages to get past your turrets and weapons and eliminate you, the game will be lost, and you will have to start over. Besides your defenses, there are also several characters to choose from in the game. Moreover, you can switch to a real-time view to see how other players are going on.
Is the game good?
Overall, Haunted Dorm is worth trying out if you are into the tower-defense genre. The game offers a unique premise as it features some horror elements. And although it has simple mechanics, the gameplay can be a bit challenging. However, you will encounter a few drawbacks here and there, including translation issues. The app also lags or completely breaks down whenever you switch the perspective too fast.
