Handy GPS: The Ultimate Navigation Tool for Outdoor Sports
Handy GPS is the perfect tool for outdoor enthusiasts who love to hike, bike, or kayak. Developed by Anthony Dunk, this app is designed to provide accurate navigation and tracking features to help you explore the outdoors with ease. With this app, you can view your current location in UTM or Lat/Lon formats, record and manually enter waypoints in different formats, and show your current location, waypoints, and tracklogs on a map.
Handy GPS offers a range of features to enhance your outdoor experience, including a magnetic compass, elevation profile, computation of sunrise and sunset times, and support for both metric and US/imperial units. It also supports datums WGS84, GDA94, AGD66, and AGD84 and allows entry of parameters for a custom datum, as well as supporting affine parameters for local grid systems.
The app is equipped with an odometer to keep track of the distance you have covered, and you can download offline map tiles for use where there is no cellular coverage. You can also take photos from within the app to be stored with the current session. However, continued use of GPS running in the background can decrease battery life significantly.
