Action RPG mixed with deck building
Hand of Fate is a rouge-like RPG with a collectable card element. Choose a deck of cards and then battle against a dealer, jumping into short real time action battles between draws.
Draw a card
Featuring an interesting mixture of deck building and combat, Hand of Fate is an atmospheric game offering endless new experiences. Each game begins with a card selection with players choosing from equipment and encounter cards. The dealer then randomly selects a card, offering the player a choice or random pick. This can lead to bonuses, combat sections or random chances. Players must win against enemies in short and sweet combat sections, duelling it out in a fairly standard third-person hack and slash style. Games are won when the players reaches the end of a level and defeats a boss, earning new cards for future games. Hand of Fate has tight and responsive combat alongside a heavy reliance on RNG and rouge-like elements which can lead to a tiring experience especially in the later game. The dark and brooding atmosphere, coupled with the dialogue serving as story, has a tabletop RPG feeling which will certainly appeal to fans of the genre.
New fight
Hand of Fate is an ambitious take on both a card game and a RPG. The mixture combines well despite a certain level of repetition.
