Halo: Spartan Assault 2
Halo: Spartan Strike for Windows 10 could have been named Halo: Spartan Assault 2. We find ourselves before a shooter with an aerial view set in the world of Master Chief and company.
If you liked shooting the Pact enemies non-stop in Spartan Assault while you tried to get the best score, you’ll love Halo: Spartan Strike.
Shoot, shoot, shoot
In Halo: Spartan Strike you will control a Spartan (a supersoldier like the Master Chief) in a series of linear levels full of action. As opposed to the console games, Spartan Strike is focused less on the creativity you face the situations with and more in shooting like crazy.
The levels in Halo: Spartan Strike have the right rhythm and creativity so as to not tire you. The mission requirements can change at any moment and the enemy lineup gets bigger and bigger, making you update your tactics.
The main problem of Spartan Strike is its short duration. At most it will take you around four hours, and even though it has optional missions, there aren’t big incentives for clearing them.
The other problem of Spartan Strike is that it doesn’t try to differentiate itself from Spartan Assault, the previous game. The mission structure, the controls… few things have changed.
Polished in every platform
Halo: Spartan Strike has great controls in every platform. All the mechanics are focused around the two sticks, both physical and virtual: the left stick moves the Spartan and the right stick points and shoots. Don’t worry if it sounds confusing: it’s very precise and easy to understand.
Halo: Spartan Strike’s graphics are good enough without being excessively pompous. This way the game works fluidly in almost any device, even if it is a little old.
Take it or leave it
Halo: Spartan Strike is a “more of the same”, a “take it or leave it”. Did you like Halo: Spartan Assault? Then don’t doubt it: download this game now. Do you prefer the essence of Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 3 or the imminent Halo 5? Then don’t lose your time with this title.
