Fan-made horror and escape role-playing game
Halloween 2 – Asylum is an indie single-player RPG that offers elements of suspense, horror, and occasional gore. Similar to other fan-made bundles, such as Halloween, this game draws a significant amount of inspiration from the 1970s franchise of the same name. With impressively rendered graphics, it stays true to the traditional Halloween story.
The first-person nature of this bundle will provide an immersive overall experience, and the graphics are quite impressive in regard to their realism. These elements are then complimented by the intensely dark atmosphere of an insane asylum.
Keeping Michael Myers at bay
The plot of Halloween 2 – Asylum involves a mental patient named Michael Myers. The main character is a cook who works at this hospital. Things soon take a turn for the worse as he finds himself being chased by Michael Myers. Unfortunately, there is no multiplayer option.
An immersive environment
One of the aspects that provides an innate sense of horror involves the surroundings themselves. Many passageways within the asylum are dimly lit, and as few other workers are present, feelings of solitude and even desperation will quickly overtake the player.
Straightforward gameplay
The user controls associated with this platform are simple, and navigation is quite streamlined. However, there are still times when players will have to interact with other objects, as well as with NPCs that are interspersed throughout the asylum.
Putting the horror back into Halloween
A series of strategic jumpscares have been placed throughout the plot of this game, enabling it to offer a similar atmosphere to popular bundles, such as There is a Man in the Attic. The fact that other mental patients are also housed within the asylum provides an even more frightening experience.
