Stylish retro platform game for PC
Guns N’ Runs is a premium action game for PC by developer Statera Studio. It’s a stylish retro 2D platformer that is set in a futuristic world and features beautifully crafted pixel graphics. In it, players will engage in run-and-gun rescue and capture missions in underground bunkers.
Similar to Dead Cells or Huntdown, Guns N’ Runs is all about fast-paced action and trigger-happy shooting. It features multiple characters with unique weapons and abilities to take on waves of enemies and bosses. It also boasts various traps and platforming challenges to test players’ skills and reaction times.
Gunning and running
Guns N’ Runs takes place in underground bunkers in the vast emptiness of the Atacama Desert. In it, you are tasked with capture and rescue missions across 23 levels that are a cross between the industrial and the technological. There are over 200 unique challenges spread across all of them, and in each one, sits final bosses lying in wait at the end.
You are part of the Conspiracy Squad comprised of eight individuals gifted with unique elemental abilities, such as fire, lightning, ice, and more. What makes things more interesting is that each one has distinct backstories and narratives that slowly unfold as you control them for your playthroughs. The game utilizes a dash mechanic to help you move around quickly and overcome obstacles and challenges.
What’s more, you have access to an arsenal of weapons to use and a shield to protect yourself from some damage. You can even quickly recharge and boost your dash by defeating enemies. The game can pose quite a challenge, especially for those who are new to these types of platformers. Suffice it to say, prepare to fail and try again a lot.
Fun and frantic
If you’re a fan of platform games with fast-paced action, Guns N’ Runs will be right up your alley and one you should check out. It’s stylish, offers various characters to choose from, and serves up a nice challenge for veteran players. For everyone else, the difficulty will be a bit much, but well worth mastering for the fun you get in return.
