Turn your grenades into diamonds
Blast things in style with GTA 5 Minecraft Diamond, a game utility developed for Grand Theft Auto V that changes the appearance of the in-game grenade into a Minecraft diamond. This free-to-use mod reskins the existing grenade into a block-based diamond rendered using the local engine, giving a high-resolution appearance.
The GTA 5 Minecraft Diamond creates a custom skin and texture for an existing game element, placing it in the same category as the GTA 5 Low End PC Mod or the GTA 5 Texture Mod.
A slight modification
As the name suggests, this only introduces the diamond item from Minecraft and it is used only for a reskinned grenade. Admittedly, it looks cool, awesome, and out of place in a regular GTA 5 game. It makes you want to see more Minecraft textures imported to the game, to see a mix of realistic and cubic items mixed together.
Unfortunately, the mod ends there: it doesn’t offer any other content aside from the grenade diamonds. If you’re a fan of both franchises, then go for this small mod. Otherwise, you’d want to reconsider whether it’s worth your time and effort. Aside from the new skin and texture, the animation and the explosion remains the same. It doesn’t even feature bits of diamonds scattering away.
Also, there are reported issues with the animation, specifically with pulling out the grenade. Some users are stuck with a holstering and unholstering loop. This makes the players unable to throw the grenade. Gameplay-wise, it doesn’t pose a threat of the grenade suddenly exploding and killing your character. The mod just keeps the diamond-textured explosive in your hands, which makes the experience annoying.
One-item mod
While there are a lot of specialized mods for one application or one item only, the requirements for GTA 5 make it questionable whether you should have GTA 5 Minecraft Diamond in your game. Aside from looking cool, it doesn’t do anything differently. Additionally, there are some cases where the mod causes the character to get stuck in a certain movement loop, rendering the item unusable.
