The best version of GTA: Liberty City Stories

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories is a spin-off of Grand Theft Auto 3 that first appeared on the PSP back in 2005 – now I feel old. Now after a variety of desktop and console ports, it has finally made its way to mobile devices in this great adaptation. Now, get ready to move up the mob as Toni Cipriani.

A triumphant return to Liberty City

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories takes place three years after the events of the legendary GTA 3. At this point, Toni Cipriani is in hiding for killing a mobster – but it is time to go home and take your place in the family.

With a gang war in full swing, your role is to help the Leone family in its rise to power, undertaking all kinds of missions missions: murder, extortion, robberies, car chases… pure GTA!

A controlled blast

In its passage touchscreen, GTA: Liberty City Stories been adapted perfectly to make it a delight to control. Rockstar has reformulated some missions, simplifying them so you don’t feel held back by the touch controls, but for the most part everything remains intact and keeps the distinctive essence of GTA.

Graphically, GTA: Liberty City Stories is outstanding. Rockstar has redefined its graphics to play at a smooth 60 frames per second. Of course, keep in mind, that to enjoy all this you will need an iPhone 5+, iPad Air+, iPad Mini+, or iPad Pro.

Music, as is typical in a GTA game, has a key role. But if you don’t like the default tunes then you can add your own music to enjoy as you travel Liberty City.

A real improvement

GTA: Liberty City Stories could be considered a minor game compared to GTA 3 or San Andreas, but on iOS this is not the case: its graphics are superior to the original it plays better than ever. It’s the best reason yet to return to Liberty City.
