Free open-source Facebook messenger

Goofy is a free third-party Facebook messenger service. The open-source software connects to a Facebook account and provides notifications for new messages in a simple interface including a list of contacts and previous messages. While it is a well-designed app, especially the ability to quickly reply within a notification, Goofy does have a tendency to be fairly intensive on RAM despite its limited function. Apart from this, it is a handy little app to have running in the background unless your machine is limited in memory.
