VR Program to Help Rehabilitate Shoulder Injuries

It can be difficult to recover from a shoulder injury. Doctors and patients can use the tools found within Gonio VR in order to increase mobility and to speed up the healing process.

Primary Medical Functions and Features

Gonio VR is concerned with increasing levels of mobility that are often hindered immediately following an acute shoulder injury. It presents the user with a three-dimensional environment. Various tasks will need to be performed (such as grabbing objects and placing them into baskets) in order to provide patients with greater levels of motivation. A host of different exercises are offered. These can be chosen based off of the individual injury as well as the progress of each patient. Doctors are able to monitor and track this progress over time.

Clinical Accuracy Within the Digital World

The ultimate goal of Gonio VR is to provide a stimulating environment so that patients become more interested in performing healing activities. It has been designed by professional physiotherapists and the game works in combination with the HTC Vive headset. Inputs are provided through a mouse pad and tracked motion controllers.
