Free Warband mod
Golden Earth is a game utility application developed by DavidRudoy. This is a mod for the roleplaying game Mount & Blade: Warband. The app is free to download, lightweight, and does not require additional add-ons to play.
Golden Earth brings players to North America where Vikings rule the fictional lands of Vinland and Markland. However, a feud broke between the Vikings and the Skerelingi (Indians) and a battle ensued to decide who would rule the Golden Lands. It brings new faction units and a large number of weapons and armor. However, unlike the Brytwalda mod, you cannot create your own settlement.
What is Golden Earth?
Mount & Blade is a series of action-roleplaying games that takes players to a fantasy world that resembles the medieval era. It features an open world in which there is no storyline present. Here, players can join factions and fight other players. The franchise garnered a huge fan base despite the mixed reviews. It then led to the release of various expansions and game mods.
Golden Earth is among the mods that independent developers released for the Warband expansion. As mentioned, the mod takes players to 1002 North America. Here, Vikings traveled to North America and colonized the lands of Vinland and Markland, under the ruling of Leif Eriksson. Skrelingi (Indians) learn about the new inhabitants and begin an active trade. However, that did not last long, and a conflict broke out.
Players will join a faction—either a Viking or an Indian—and fight in the war. As mentioned, there are new factions in the mod, each armed with its own equipment. There will be faction units and one kind of bandits. There will also be a global map and new texture that you can enjoy. However, unlike other Warband mods, you cannot create your own settlement.
Is the mod good?
If you are a fan of the Mount & Blade franchise, especially the Warband expansion, Golden Earth is a must-try. Here, you will fight to decide who would rule the Golden Lands. You also have new factions and a wide variety of equipment and armory. Of course, there will be new land to explore. However, the mod could still use improvement as other similar mods offer more.
